8 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife safari 

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can be done in any of its four trekking regions including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo, where several gorilla families are habituated.You will spend up to an hour with the gorilla family once you reach it, a perfect opportunity for taking up close photos. This is a once in a lifetime experience to get close to one of our closest animal relatives in the wild.

Uganda is also home to a number of other amazing wild animals and beautiful places to visit, so why not combine your Gorilla Trekking experience with some of the other adventures Uganda has to offer?

Day 1: Kampala - Mubende - Kibale Forest

You will be picked up by our company driver who will drive you to Kibale forest national park through Mubende town with lots of scenic views, followed by a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch. Continue to the park for an evening visit to the crater lakes region and afterwards you can enjoy cultural performances from the local people.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking/Bird watching

After breakfast you will receive a briefing about chimp tracking. This will be followed by searching for these great apes on foot while also spotting other primates like the colobus monkeys, mangabeys, baboons, bush babies and more as your guide provides more information about them. After lunch, you will have a nature walk to bigodi wetland sanctuary where you can see a large variety of birds and unique flora and fauna.

Day 3: Kibale Forest - Queen Elizabeth Park (Boat Launch Cruise)

After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park with opportunities to view game en route such as elephants, buffalo, leopard, hyena, and leopards. After lunch and some relaxation, you will head out for the boat launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. From the boat you can see hippo, crocodiles, buffaloes and water birds at a close range.

Day 4: Game drives and forest walk/primates trekking

After an early cup of tea or coffee you will enjoy a sunrise game drive to spot the early risers as they come out of their hides. This is the best time of day to spot lions, buffalo, warthogs and many more. Retire for a late breakfast and some relaxation, which will be followed by a hot lunch at the lodge. After lunch you will head out and descend into the gorge for chimpanzee tracking. During the tracking you will likely see other primates, including vervet monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and baboons among others.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth - Ishasha sector - Bwindi Forest

After breakfast you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover at Ishasha for the famous tree climbing lions. This will also be a chance to spot other animals you might have missed in the previous game drives. After a scenic drive through Kabale town, you will arrive to the park late in the evening.

Day 6: Gorillas in the mist

After an early breakfast you will head out with a packed lunch for your briefing and Gorilla Trek in the steep and densely forested beautiful landscape of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This activity can take anywhere from 3-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. Once you find the troop, you will have the opportunity to sit and take photos with them at close range for up to 1 hour. Afterwards you will hike back down for some well-earned downtime, a Batwa/Bakiga Cultural Performance at the lodge, and some dinner.

Day 7: Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, often called the Switzerland of Africa for its distinctive rolling hills surrounding a clear, deep lake, bilharzia-free lake. Once at Lake Bunyonyi, there are a number of activities you can choose to do, including boat trips, hiking, swimming, sun bathing, bird watching and more.

Day 8: Lake Bunyonyi - Drive back to Kampala

After breakfast you will drive back to Kampala. Enjoy a visit to the Royal Drum Makers en route and a stopover at the equator for photography. Arrive in Kampala early evening for a transfer to Entebbe for your flight back home
